Gino Pernice

Gino Pernice (Milan, May 6, 1927 – Rome, April 25, 1997) was an Italian film, theatre, and television actor. A well-known character actor, primarily active between the 1960s and 1980s, he was noted for his ability to portray clerks, bureaucrats, and pedantic professionals, often with a nervous, comedic edge. His career is inextricably linked to Paolo Villaggio, with whom he collaborated on numerous films. He is widely remembered by the public for the role of Surveyor Calboni in the *Fantozzi* saga, a character he inherited from Giuseppe Anatrelli starting with *Fantozzi contro tutti* (1980), which he also played in subsequent installments. He appeared in other successful comedies such as Luigi Zampa's *Il medico della mutua* (1968), Dino Risi's *Il commissario Lo Gatto* (1986), and Neri Parenti's *Scuola di ladri* (1986). In parallel with his film work, he was also active in theatre and participated in several television dramas. Although he did not win major awards, his face remains one of the most recognizable and appreciated in the landscape of *Commedia all'italiana*, a symbol of an entire cinematic era.
