Giorgos Armenis (Athens, 1943) is a Greek actor, director, and screenwriter, considered one of the most important figures in contemporary Greek cinema and theatre. Trained at the prestigious Drama School of the Karolos Koun Art Theatre, he has built a multifaceted career, distinguished by his powerful performances. His international fame is inextricably linked to his collaboration with director Theodoros Angelopoulos, for whom he acted in masterpieces such as *The Travelling Players* (1975), *Alexander the Great* (1980), *Ulysses' Gaze* (1995), and *Eternity and a Day* (1998), winner of the Palme d'Or at Cannes. His versatility has allowed him to work with many other great Greek directors, spanning a wide range of genres and roles. In addition to his prolific acting career, he has also dedicated himself to theatre and film directing. Among his most significant accolades is the Best Actor award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival for his performance in the film *It's a Long Road* (1998) by Pantelis Voulgaris.
