Giovanna Cigoli
Giovanna Cigoli (Pavia, November 4, 1886 – Rome, December 29, 1961) was an Italian actress and voice actress, considered one of the pioneers and most representative voices in film dubbing. She began her career as a stage actress, later dedicating herself with great success to film and radio, but it was in dubbing that she achieved her greatest fame. She became the official Italian voice for some of the greatest stars of Hollywood's Golden Age, lending her versatile timbre and intense interpretive ability to stars such as Ingrid Bergman in iconic films like *Casablanca*, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, and Rita Hayworth in her celebrated role as *Gilda*. Her impeccable diction and her ability to capture the emotional nuances of the characters made her a prominent figure and a role model for subsequent generations. Her work was instrumental in shaping the Italian public's perception of many international stars, leaving an indelible mark on the history of cinema in Italy.
