
Giovanna Ralli
Giovanna Ralli is an Italian actress, a prominent figure in post-war national cinema. Making her debut at a very young age, she established herself in the 1950s and 1960s as a versatile performer, capable of ranging from comedy to drama. She worked with the leading directors of the era, including Roberto Rossellini in *General Della Rovere* (1959) and Vittorio De Sica in *The Last Judgment* (1961), often alongside actors such as Alberto Sordi and Vittorio Gassman. Her most famous role internationally is that of Elide Catenacci in Ettore Scola's masterpiece *We All Loved Each Other So Much* (1974). Her career also includes a period in Hollywood, where she was directed by Blake Edwards in *What Did You Do in the War, Daddy?* (1966). Throughout her long career, she has received numerous accolades, including two Nastro d'Argento awards for Best Actress for *The Escape* (1964) and for the aforementioned *We All Loved Each Other So Much*, as well as a Grolla d'oro and a special David di Donatello for lifetime achievement.
