Giuliano Missirini (Ravenna, 1954) is an Italian writer, poet, and essayist, best known for his contribution to children's literature and as one of the leading experts on the work of Gianni Rodari. His career is closely linked to cultural dissemination and pedagogy; for years, he directed the Gianni Rodari Study Center in Orvieto, promoting the analysis and dissemination of Rodari's thought through essays and educational activities. His literary output ranges from fiction to critical essays. His most significant works include the novel *L'occhio della balena*, the critical biography *Qui comincia l'avventura del signor Bonaventura*, dedicated to Sergio Tofano, and *Il cammin di nostra vita*, a retelling of the Divine Comedy for young readers. For his work as a writer, he has received major awards, including the prestigious Andersen Prize in 2006 as best author, specifically for his book *L'occhio della balena*.
