Grigory Mikhailovich Rodchenkov is a Russian chemist and the former director of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory. During his tenure, he was a central figure in Russia's state-sponsored doping program, which culminated during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. His main work consisted of developing a three-anabolic-steroid cocktail, known as "Duchess," and devising a method to swap the contaminated urine samples of Russian athletes with clean ones. After fleeing to the United States in 2015, he became a key whistleblower, exposing the entire system. His testimony was instrumental in the McLaren Report, which confirmed the existence of institutionalized doping. Although he has not received formal recognition for his role, his revelations led to widespread sanctions against Russian sports and were central to the Academy Award-winning documentary *Icarus* (2017), which brought his story to a global audience. He currently lives in the United States under witness protection.
