Guido Spadea

Guido Spadea (Milan, July 15, 1921 – Pessano con Bornago, January 6, 1990) was an Italian actor, voice actor, and dubbing director. His career began on stage, where he distinguished himself by collaborating with prominent theater directors, including Giorgio Strehler at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. However, he achieved his greatest fame in the field of dubbing, becoming one of the most iconic voices in Italian cinema. His deep and versatile timbre is inextricably linked to Peter Falk, for whom he was the historic Italian voice of Lieutenant Columbo, a role that made him famous to the general public. Other notable actors he voiced include Walter Matthau, particularly in the comedy "The Odd Couple"; George C. Scott in the monumental role of General Patton; and Charles Bronson in numerous action films. He also worked as a dubbing director, overseeing the Italian versions of various films. For his fundamental contribution, in 1995 he was posthumously awarded the Leggio d'oro for lifetime achievement.
