Gusti Kreissl
Gusti Kreissl was an Austrian diver who competed internationally during the 1920s and 1930s. Specializing in springboard and platform events, she became one of the leading figures in the sport in Europe. Her career is mainly associated with her successes at the European Aquatics Championships. In 1927, in Bologna, she won the gold medal in the 3-meter springboard. She defended her title in the same event four years later in Paris in 1931, where she also won a silver medal in the 10-meter platform. Her final international medal was another silver, again in the 3-meter springboard, at the 1934 championships in Magdeburg. With a total of four European medals, including two golds, she is considered one of the most prominent divers of the interwar period.
