Håkan Jahnberg

Håkan Jahnberg (1903-1970) was a Swedish actor. Primarily known for his long and illustrious stage career, he was a prominent figure at the Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten) in Stockholm for several decades, performing a vast repertoire of classical and modern roles. His international fame is particularly associated with his collaborations with director Ingmar Bergman. Among his most significant film performances are the role of the servant Frid in *Smiles of a Summer Night* (1955) and Consul Egerman in *The Magician* (1958). In addition to film and the stage, Jahnberg was also an acclaimed performer for Radioteatern, the radio theatre of Swedish Radio, demonstrating great versatility. For his outstanding contribution to the performing arts, in 1965 he was awarded the prestigious Eugene O'Neill Award, one of the highest honors for a stage actor in Sweden.
