Halina Skoczyńska (1953–2016) was a Polish theater, film, and television actress. A graduate of the State Higher School of Theatre in Kraków, her career was associated with prominent Polish theaters, including the Teatr Współczesny in Wrocław, the Jaracz Theatre in Łódź, and, from 1998, the Teatr Narodowy (National Theatre) in Warsaw, where she became one of its leading actresses. Her work in theater was marked by collaborations with renowned directors such as Jerzy Jarocki and Jan Englert. For her intense performances, she received significant awards, including the prestigious Aleksander Zelwerowicz Award in 1998. Although she was an acclaimed dramatic actress, she achieved her greatest popularity with the general public through her role as Janina, the grandmother in the highly successful television series "Rodzinka.pl" (2011–2016), which consolidated her status as a beloved figure in contemporary Polish culture.
