Haluk Bilginer (born in İzmir, June 5, 1954) is an internationally renowned Turkish actor. Trained at the Ankara State Conservatory and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, he began his career in the United Kingdom, where he gained recognition for his role as Mehmet Osman in the soap opera *EastEnders* for over 250 episodes. After returning to Turkey, he established himself as one of the country's most versatile performers, working across theater, cinema, and television. His filmography includes acclaimed works such as *Masumiyet* (1997) and Nuri Bilge Ceylan's *Kış Uykusu* (Winter Sleep, 2014), which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. In television, he has starred in successful series such as *Ezel*. His most prestigious recognition came in 2019 when he won the International Emmy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the web series *Şahsiyet* (Persona), becoming the first Turkish actor to receive this award. He is also the co-founder of the Oyun Atölyesi theatre in Istanbul.
