Hans Frank

Hans Frank (1900-1946) was a German lawyer and politician, a leading figure of the Nazi regime. He began his career as a legal advisor to Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist Party. After the seizure of power, he held several positions, including Reich Minister without Portfolio and President of the Academy for German Law, contributing to the Nazification of the legal system. His most important appointment was as Governor-General of the occupied Polish territories in 1939, a role he held until 1945. In this capacity, he presided over the systematic economic plunder and persecution of the population, including the implementation of the Holocaust. The most well-known of his works is his voluminous personal diary, which documented his activities in Poland in detail and became a fundamental piece of evidence against him. At the Nuremberg trials, Frank was found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity and was sentenced to death by hanging.
