Harry Reasoner (April 17, 1923 – August 6, 1991) was an influential American journalist and television news anchor. He is best known as one of the original co-founders and hosts of the acclaimed CBS newsmagazine program, *60 Minutes*, alongside Mike Wallace, beginning in 1968. Throughout his long career, he worked primarily for CBS News and, for a period in the 1970s, for ABC News, where he co-anchored the *ABC Evening News* with Barbara Walters. He later returned to CBS and his role on *60 Minutes*, which he held until his retirement in 1991. His style was characterized by a quiet wit and thoughtful writing, often evident in his end-of-broadcast commentary essays. For his journalistic work, Reasoner received numerous accolades, including several Emmy Awards and a prestigious Peabody Award, which attest to his impact on television journalism.
