Helena Carter was an American actress, primarily active in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Her career was focused mainly on leading roles in genre films, particularly Westerns and adventure films, where she was noted for her screen presence. Among her most significant performances are the films *Fort Worth* (1951), alongside Randolph Scott, and *Bugles in the Afternoon* (1952). However, her most iconic and enduring role is that of Dr. Pat Blake in the science fiction classic *Invaders from Mars* (1953). Thanks to this film, Carter is considered a cult figure among fans of the genre, which represents her greatest posthumous recognition. After an intense but relatively short career, she retired from acting in the mid-1950s following her marriage.
