Henri Bosc
Henri Bosc (Perpignan, 14 September 1884 – Saint-Gaudens, 25 April 1967) was a French baritone and actor. A celebrated interpreter of the operetta repertoire, he was primarily associated with the Parisian stages, particularly the Théâtre de la Gaîté-Lyrique and the Opéra-Comique, becoming one of the stars of the interwar period. His career is inextricably linked to the creation of leading roles in works by composers such as Reynaldo Hahn and André Messager. He was the first interpreter of Duparquet in Hahn's *Ciboulette* (1923) and Jacques in *Le Temps d'aimer* (1926), and Robert in Messager's *Passionnément* (1926). Gifted with a flexible baryton-martin voice and great stage elegance, he left numerous recordings that attest to his artistry. For his artistic merits and his contribution to French culture, he was awarded the title of Knight of the Legion of Honour.
