Henry Travers

**Henry Travers (1874-1965)** was a British actor, known for his character roles, often portraying elderly, kind, and wise figures. His film career began relatively late but made him a familiar face in Hollywood.

His most iconic role is undoubtedly the angel Clarence Odbody in Frank Capra's classic "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946). He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Doctor Staunton in "Mrs. Miniver" (1942).

Other significant films include "The Invisible Man" (1933), "Random Harvest" (1942), and Alfred Hitchcock's "Shadow of a Doubt" (1943). Travers specialized in portraying benevolent, sometimes eccentric characters, who often provided guidance or a touch of warmth and wisdom to the narratives.
