Joining the company in 1958, he rose through the ranks to become the director of the Sony Design Center. Under his leadership, the design team created iconic products that marked the history of consumer electronics, including the Trinitron television, the Betamax video recorder, and the Walkman portable cassette player. He also supervised the evolution and application of the renowned Sony logo, consolidating its global recognition. His approach, which combined functionality with minimalist aesthetics, earned numerous international awards. Notable among these is the prestigious "Design for an Industry Award," presented by the Royal Society of Arts in the United Kingdom.
