
Hossein Mahjoub
Hossein Mahjoub is an Iranian actor, born in Rasht in 1948. After graduating in acting and directing from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran, he began his artistic career in theater, later establishing himself in film and television. His international recognition is primarily linked to his fruitful collaboration with director Majid Majidi, for whom he has played roles of great dramatic depth. Among his most acclaimed performances is his role in the film *The Color of Paradise* (1999), where he portrays the widowed father of a blind child. For this role, he received the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Fajr Film Festival, Iran's most prestigious film award. Other significant works in his filmography include *Baran* (2001) and *The Weeping Willow* (2005), also directed by Majidi. His measured and intense acting has made him one of the most respected performers in contemporary Iranian cinema.
