Irma Yakovlevna Raush, born in 1938, is a Russian actress and film director. A graduate of the VGIK State Institute of Cinematography, she gained international recognition for her performances in the early films of her ex-husband, director Andrei Tarkovsky. Her most significant roles include the protagonist's mother in *Ivan's Childhood* (1962) and the 'holy fool' girl (durochka) in *Andrei Rublev* (1966), a performance for which she was awarded the Étoile de Cristal for Best Foreign Actress in France. Beginning in the 1970s, she left acting to focus on directing at Gorky Film Studio, specializing in children's and youth films. Throughout her directing career, she directed several films, solidifying her reputation in the industry. For her contribution to the art of cinema, she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
