Irving Metzman (1938-2012) was an American character actor, known for his distinctive stage presence and memorable roles in several cult films. Born in Brooklyn, Metzman is best remembered for his iconic portrayal of the "Promenaders" gang leader in the action classic The Warriors (1979). In this role, his elegant and formal appearance, almost like a prom attendee, in stark contrast to the film's urban violence, made him immediately indelible.
