
Jack Nance
Marvin John Nance, known as Jack Nance (Boston, December 21, 1943 – South Pasadena, December 30, 1996), was an American actor, primarily known for his long and fruitful collaboration with director David Lynch. His most iconic role was that of protagonist Henry Spencer in Lynch's debut film, *Eraserhead* (1977), a performance that established him as a cult figure. He continued his collaboration with the director, portraying Pete Martell in the television series *Twin Peaks* (1990-1991) and in the prequel film *Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me* (1992), as well as appearing in films such as *Blue Velvet* (1986), *Wild at Heart* (1990), and the posthumously released *Lost Highway* (1997). A versatile character actor, his filmography also includes roles in works by other directors, such as *Barfly* (1987) and *Colors* (1988). Although he did not receive major formal awards, his primary recognition lies in his status as an iconic actor in David Lynch's cinema and in his acclaimed ability to embody eccentric and memorable characters.
