Jack Watson (1915-1999) was a prolific British character actor, known for his imposing screen presence and for his roles as authority figures, often military men or police officers. Before embarking on his acting career, he served as a physical training instructor in the army, an experience that influenced many of his later roles. His film career includes appearances in notable films such as *Peeping Tom* (1960), *The Hill* (1965), alongside Sean Connery, and the action classic *The Wild Geese* (1978), where he played the unforgettable Regimental Sergeant Major Sandy Young. For his performance in *This Sporting Life* (1963), he received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best British Actor.
