
Jacqueline Sassard
Jacqueline Sassard (Nice, March 13, 1940) is a French actress, best known for her film career in the 1950s and 1960s. She made her debut at the young age of seventeen as the lead in Alberto Lattuada's film *Guendalina* (1957), a role that brought her to the attention of the public and critics. Her career continued successfully in Italy, where she worked with prominent directors such as Antonio Pietrangeli in *Nata di marzo* (1958), a performance for which she won the Best Actress award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. Her other significant works include Valerio Zurlini's *Estate violenta* (1959) and the British film *Accident* (1967) by Joseph Losey, which brought her international recognition. Her last major role was in Claude Chabrol's *Les Biches* (1968), before she retired from acting at the end of the decade to focus on her private life.
