
Jaime Sánchez
Jaime Sánchez is a Puerto Rican actor, born in Rincón on December 19, 1938. A life member of the Actors Studio, he began his career on stage, gaining significant recognition in 1965 by winning an Obie Award for his performance in the Off-Broadway production *The Toilet*. His major film debut was the role of Jesus Ortiz in *The Pawnbroker* (1964), but he became internationally known for the part of Angel in Sam Peckinpah's celebrated western *The Wild Bunch* (1969). His long and prolific career includes appearances in films such as *Serpico* (1973), *The Warriors* (1979), and *Carlito's Way* (1993), as well as numerous appearances on television series, including *Kojak* and *Miami Vice*. Praised for the intensity of his performances, he is considered one of the most important character actors of his generation, capable of ranging from dramatic roles to complex characters.
