
James Fleet
James Fleet is a British actor, born on March 11, 1952, in Bilston, Staffordshire. Trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, he began his career in theatre, also working with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He achieved international fame in 1994 playing the clumsy and well-meaning Tom in the hit film *Four Weddings and a Funeral*. In the same year, he began playing another of his most famous roles, that of the kind but naive Hugo Horton in the BBC sitcom *The Vicar of Dibley*, a character he portrayed for over a decade. His prolific film career includes roles in films such as *Sense and Sensibility* (1995), *Kevin & Perry Go Large* (2000), and *The Phantom of the Opera* (2004). For his performance in *Sense and Sensibility*, he shared a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture with the rest of the cast. Also consistently active in television, he has appeared in numerous series, including *Coronation Street*, *The Crown*, and *Bridgerton*.
