Jamie Lee Curtis is an American actress and producer, the daughter of actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She made her film debut in the role of Laurie Strode in the horror film *Halloween* (1978), which established her as a genre icon and a "scream queen," a status cemented by films like *The Fog* and *Terror Train*. In the 1980s, she demonstrated great versatility by transitioning to comedy with hits such as *Trading Places* (1983), for which she won a BAFTA Award, and *A Fish Called Wanda* (1988). Her career continued with acclaimed roles in *True Lies* (1994), which earned her a Golden Globe Award, and *Freaky Friday* (2003). After returning to the *Halloween* franchise several times, in 2023 she achieved the highest recognition for her performance in the film *Everything Everywhere All at Once*, winning the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, BAFTA Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actress.
