Jan Ciecierski (March 8, 1899 – February 20, 1987) was a Polish theater and film actor. Trained at the Warsaw Drama School, he made his stage debut in 1921, associating much of his career with prominent theaters in the capital, such as the Teatr Polski and the Teatr Narodowy. In cinema, he was a well-regarded character actor whose career spanned over five decades. He is internationally known for his portrayal of the hotel porter in Andrzej Wajda's masterpiece *Ashes and Diamonds* (1958). His extensive filmography also includes roles in films such as *Man on the Tracks* (1957) and *The Two Who Stole the Moon* (1962). For his significant contribution to Polish culture, Ciecierski received numerous state honors, including the Knight's Cross and later the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, a testament to his status as a respected figure in his country's artistic landscape.
