Jan Decorte
**Jan Decorte** is an eclectic figure on the artistic scene, known primarily for his work in theater, but he has also left a distinctive mark on cinema as an actor and director. He has played complex and tormented characters; among his most memorable performances are the young misfit in Dominique Deruddere's *Crazy Love* (1987) and the disturbing protagonist of Marc Didden's *Brussels by Night* (1989).
He also starred in *Babel* (2001) and directed his own works, such as the surreal *L'Homme qui a perdu son ombre* (1991) and *Hedda Gabler* (1993), exploring existential themes. His style is characterized by a magnetic presence, often eccentric and introverted, favoring roles as outsiders, fragile or marginal figures, charged with melancholy and subtle madness. Considered an “enfant terrible” of Belgian cinema, his career is an example of an unconventional approach to art.
