Janusz Sterninski
Janusz Sterninski is a Polish-born Italian volleyball coach, known for his influential and successful career in the Italian league and with the national team. His career as a head coach is associated with top clubs such as Porto Ravenna Volley, Panini Modena, Lube Macerata, and Trentino Volley. Leading these teams, he won numerous trophies, including several Italian league titles, Italian Cups, and the prestigious CEV Champions League, establishing himself as one of the most skilled coaches.
A pivotal chapter in his career was his role as assistant coach for the Italian men's national team alongside Julio Velasco during the era of the "Generation of Phenomena." In this period, he significantly contributed to winning two World Championships (1990, 1994), three European Championships, and several editions of the World League. His profound tactical knowledge and meticulous technical preparation are universally recognized as key factors behind the successes achieved.
