Jennifer Grey (born March 26, 1960) is an American actress, the daughter of actor and Oscar-winner Joel Grey. She achieved international fame in the late 1980s. After a few minor roles, she came to public attention in 1986, playing Jeanie Bueller in the hit comedy *Ferris Bueller's Day Off*. Her definitive breakthrough came the following year with the iconic role of Frances "Baby" Houseman in the cult film *Dirty Dancing* (1987), alongside Patrick Swayze. For this performance, she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. Her career slowed down in the 1990s, but she continued to work, primarily in television productions.
