
Jenny Roussea
Jenny Roussea (Greek: Τζένη Ρουσσέα; Zea, 1934 – Athens, 2017) was a Greek theatre and film actress. Trained at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece, she began her career on the stage, soon becoming a leading figure in the Athenian theatre scene. She achieved her greatest popularity during the golden age of Greek cinema in the 1950s and 1960s, distinguishing herself for her versatility in both dramatic and comedic roles. Her most celebrated film performances include Vasilis Georgiadis's *The Red Lanterns* (1963) and Dinos Dimopoulos's *Lola* (1964). Her acting skills were officially recognized in 1965, when she won the Best Actress award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival for her performance in the comedy *Mia trelli... trelli oikogeneia*. In the following years, she continued to work primarily in theatre, consolidating her reputation as one of the most important actresses of her generation.
