Jeremiah "Jerry" Griffin Harrison (born August 21, 1949) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer, primarily known as the keyboardist and guitarist for the new wave band Talking Heads. His career began in the early 1970s as a member of The Modern Lovers, an influential proto-punk band. In 1977, he joined Talking Heads, making a decisive contribution to their innovative sound that blended new wave, funk, and world music, until the group disbanded in 1991. Concurrently, Harrison has released several solo albums, including *The Red and the Black* and *Casual Gods*. His work as a record producer has been particularly prolific and successful, with credits including artists such as Live, Violent Femmes, Crash Test Dummies, and No Doubt. In 2002, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the other members of Talking Heads, in recognition of his significant contribution to modern music.
