Jesse Adam Eisenberg is an American actor, writer, playwright, and director. Known for portraying witty, neurotic, and loquacious characters, he first gained critical acclaim with independent films such as *The Squid and the Whale* (2005) and *Adventureland* (2009). His international breakthrough came in 2010 with his portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in David Fincher's film *The Social Network*, for which he received Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA nominations for Best Actor. His career includes commercial successes such as *Zombieland* (2009) and the *Now You See Me* franchise, as well as complex roles such as the antagonist Lex Luthor in *Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice* (2016). Also active in theater and literature, in 2022 he made his feature film directorial debut with the film *When You Finish Saving the World*.
