Jessie Lee Fulton (1930–1998) was an American actress, known primarily for her long and prolific stage career, particularly with the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. She is widely recognized for originating the role of Miss Mona Stangley in the original 1978 stage production of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," a role that solidified her reputation. For over three decades, Fulton was a mainstay of the Alley Theatre, appearing in more than 100 productions. Her career also includes memorable performances in works such as Horton Foote's "The Trip to Bountiful," a role she portrayed both on stage and on screen in the 1985 film. Her other film credits include "Hope Floats" (1998). Although she did not receive major national awards, her contribution to American regional theater was widely celebrated, earning her numerous local accolades, including several Houston Press Theatre Awards that honored her artistry and impact on the Texas cultural scene.
