
Jharrel Jerome
Jharrel Jerome is an American actor of Dominican descent, born in the Bronx, New York, on October 9, 1997. He made his film debut in the Academy Award-winning film *Moonlight* (2016) by Barry Jenkins, portraying the teenage version of the character Kevin. His performance contributed to the film's success, which received a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast. International recognition came with the Netflix miniseries *When They See Us* (2019), directed by Ava DuVernay. For his intense portrayal of Korey Wise, one of the "Central Park Five," he earned unanimous critical acclaim and won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series, becoming the first Afro-Latino and the first Dominican-American actor to receive the award.
