Jia Zhaoji (1901-1997) was a renowned Chinese martial arts master, recognized as a key figure in the transmission of Chen-style Taijiquan in the 20th century. A direct student of the legendary Chen Fake in Beijing, Jia became one of his most important and respected disciples, mastering both empty-hand and weapon forms. His career was entirely dedicated to the teaching and orthodox preservation of the Chen style, and he trained numerous highly talented masters who helped spread Taijiquan in China and abroad. Along with his master, he co-authored the influential book "Chen Shi Taijiquan Tushuo," a foundational text for the study of this discipline that details its techniques and principles. For his exceptional contribution to the martial arts, he served as a consultant for the Beijing Wushu Association, and the Chinese government honored him by officially naming him one of the "One Hundred Living Treasures of Chinese Wushu," a prestigious recognition reserved for the nation's greatest masters.
