Jo Ann Marlowe
Jo Ann Marlowe was an American child actress active in cinema during the 1940s. She is primarily known for her role as Kay Pierce, the spoiled younger daughter of Joan Crawford's character, in the acclaimed film noir *Mildred Pierce* (1945). Although her part was secondary to that of her sister Veda, played by Ann Blyth, her performance contributed significantly to the dysfunctional family dynamic at the center of the plot. Her brief career also includes other appearances, often uncredited, in films such as *Yankee Doodle Dandy* (1942) and *Little Women* (1949). While she did not receive individual accolades, she was part of the cast of *Mildred Pierce*, an acclaimed film that earned Joan Crawford the Academy Award for Best Actress. Her artistic activity ended with her adolescence, and her life concluded prematurely at the age of 19.
