
Joel David Moore
Joel David Moore (born September 25, 1977, in Portland) is an American actor, director, and producer. He is known internationally primarily for his role as anthropologist Dr. Norm Spellman in James Cameron's franchise, having appeared in both *Avatar* (2009) and its sequel *Avatar: The Way of Water* (2022). His acting career is characterized by notable versatility, ranging from iconic comedic roles such as Owen Dittman in *Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story* (2004) to appearances in horror films like *Hatchet* (2006). In television, he played the recurring character of Colin Fisher, one of the Jeffersonian's interns, in the popular series *Bones*. Parallel to his acting work, Moore has developed a career as a director, helming feature films such as the psychological thriller *Spiral* (2007), for which he received accolades at several independent film festivals, and the comedy-drama *Youth in Oregon* (2016), thus showcasing his artistic versatility.
