Alban Nwapa, known professionally as Dr. Alban, is a Nigerian-Swedish musician, record producer, and singer. Before achieving international fame, he completed his studies in dentistry and practiced as a dentist, from which his stage name is derived. His music career took off in the early 1990s, making him a key figure in the Eurodance genre. His debut album *Hello Afrika* (1990) and the single "No Coke" earned him initial recognition, but it was with the track "It's My Life" (1992) that he achieved worldwide success, reaching the top of the charts in numerous countries. This was followed by other major hits such as "Sing Hallelujah!", which solidified his distinctive style based on a fusion of dance, pop, and reggae elements. Throughout his career, he has received several awards, including a World Music Award as the world's best-selling African artist, and he founded his own record label, Dr. Records, continuing to produce music and perform internationally.
