
John Loder
John Loder (born John Muir Lowe; London, 1898 – Selbourne, 1988) was a British film actor whose career spanned from the silent era to the 1970s. After serving in the First World War, he made his debut in German cinema before establishing himself in the United Kingdom and, subsequently, in Hollywood. Specializing in roles as gentlemen, military officers, or aristocratic figures, Loder became a well-known face both as a leading man and a reliable supporting actor. His most significant works include appearances in prestigious films such as Alfred Hitchcock's *Sabotage* (1936), John Ford's Academy Award-winning *How Green Was My Valley* (1941), and *Now, Voyager* (1942), alongside Bette Davis. His career was equally divided between British and American productions, consolidating his image as a versatile actor.
