
John Ritter
Johnathan Southworth Ritter (September 17, 1948 – September 11, 2003) was an American actor and comedian. He achieved international fame playing Jack Tripper in the sitcom "Three's Company" (1977-1984), a role based on his skill in physical comedy that earned him a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award. His film career includes successful titles such as "Problem Child" (1990) and its sequel, but he also demonstrated great versatility in dramatic roles, as in the film "Sling Blade" (1996) and the television miniseries "It" (1990). On television, he also starred in the series "Hooperman" and, from 2002, "8 Simple Rules," which he was filming at the time of his sudden death. He also voiced the title character in the animated series "Clifford the Big Red Dog." For his contribution to the television industry, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
