John Towner Williams, born in 1932, is an American composer, conductor, and pianist, considered one of the greatest and most influential film composers of all time. His career, spanning over six decades, is inextricably linked to his collaborations with directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. He has composed some of the most iconic scores in the history of cinema, including those for the *Star Wars* saga, *Jaws*, *E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial*, *Indiana Jones*, *Jurassic Park*, *Schindler's List*, and the first three films in the *Harry Potter* series. In addition to his work in cinema, he has composed music for Olympic events and served as the conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra from 1980 to 1993. With over fifty nominations and five wins, he is one of the most nominated individuals in the history of the Academy Awards. His accolades also include dozens of Grammy Awards, Golden Globes, and BAFTAs, attesting to his enormous impact on global musical and cinematic culture.
