
Jon Polito
Jon Polito (December 29, 1950 – September 1, 2016) was an American actor and voice actor. He began his career on stage, winning an Obie Award for his Off-Broadway performances before moving to Hollywood. He is best known for his collaborations with the Coen brothers, who directed him in five films, including the iconic roles of the Italian gangster Johnny Caspar in *Miller's Crossing* (1990) and the private detective Da Fino in *The Big Lebowski* (1998). His prolific career includes over 200 film and television credits. His other notable films include *The Crow* (1994), *American Gangster* (2007), and *Big Eyes* (2014). On television, he played Detective Steve Crosetti in the first two seasons of *Homicide: Life on the Street* and had recurring roles in series such as *Modern Family*. With his gravelly voice and imposing screen presence, he established himself as one of the most versatile and recognizable character actors in American cinema.
