Jorge de Juan is a Spanish actor, director, producer, and playwright whose career is closely linked to the promotion of Hispanic theatre on the international stage. After establishing his career in Spain, where he also collaborated with the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico, he undertook his most ambitious project in the United Kingdom. In 2014, he founded the Spanish Theatre Company in London, the country's first charitable theatre company dedicated to producing and promoting Spanish and Latin American plays. He subsequently opened the Cervantes Theatre, where he serves as Artistic Director, as the company's permanent home. His work focuses on staging the works of classic authors, such as Federico García Lorca, and contemporary playwrights, often in innovative bilingual (Spanish and English) formats. For his fundamental contribution to the dissemination of Hispanic culture in the Anglophone world, he has received several awards, including the LUKAS Award (Latin UK Awards).
