
José Luis de Vilallonga
José Luis de Vilallonga y Cabeza de Vaca, 9th Marquess of Castellbell, was a Spanish writer, journalist, and actor. His film career is internationally associated with his role as the wealthy Brazilian playboy José da Silva Pereira in Blake Edwards' film *Breakfast at Tiffany's* (1961). He also worked with renowned directors such as Federico Fellini on *Juliet of the Spirits* and Louis Malle on *The Lovers*. Concurrently, he developed a prolific literary career, writing in both Spanish and French. His most celebrated work is the authorized biography of King Juan Carlos I of Spain, titled *El Rey*, which became a bestseller. Among his numerous books, which range from memoirs to novels, *Fiesta* stands out; for this work, he was awarded the prestigious Prix Interallié in 1985, consolidating his reputation as a writer at a European level. As a journalist, he contributed to major publications, including *Paris Match*.
