Julanne Johnston
Julanne Johnston was an American actress, primarily active during the silent film era. She is best remembered for her role as Princess Amina in the acclaimed adventure film *The Thief of Bagdad* (1924), where she starred alongside Douglas Fairbanks. This performance marked the peak of her career and brought her international recognition. In the same year, her growing success led to her being named a WAMPAS Baby Star, a prestigious annual honor for young actresses considered the most promising in Hollywood. Her filmography includes over forty films, such as *Brass* (1923) and *Dame Chance* (1926). Like many other silent film stars, her career experienced a rapid decline with the advent of sound, leading her to retire permanently from the screen in the early 1930s. Despite the short duration of her fame, her contribution to the cinema of the era, particularly through her iconic role, remains significant.
