Julie Kavner is an American actress and voice actress, born in Los Angeles on September 7, 1950. She rose to fame in the 1970s for her role as Brenda Morgenstern in the sitcom *Rhoda*, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Worldwide, she is best known for voicing Marge Simpson and her sisters, Patty and Selma, in the animated series *The Simpsons*, a role she has held continuously since the character's debut on *The Tracey Ullman Show*. This performance earned her a second Emmy Award in 1992. Her film career is closely linked to her collaboration with director Woody Allen, who directed her in numerous films, including *Hannah and Her Sisters*, *Radio Days*, and *Alice*. Her other film credits include successful movies such as *Awakenings* and *Click*. Her raspy and distinctive voice is considered one of her most iconic traits.
