Julius Streicher
Julius Streicher (1885-1946) was a German politician and propagandist, and a prominent figure in the National Socialist Party (NSDAP). A teacher by profession, he became the Gauleiter of Franconia, holding the position until 1940. His principal and most notable work was the founding and editorship of the weekly newspaper *Der Stürmer*, a publication characterized by virulent and vulgar antisemitism, which used grotesque caricatures and the dissemination of false accusations to incite racial hatred. His propaganda activities also extended into publishing, including the publication of antisemitic children's books. Within the Nazi regime, he received several honors, including the Golden Party Badge. At the end of World War II, he was tried before the Nuremberg Tribunal, where he was found guilty of crimes against humanity for his crucial role in inciting the persecution and extermination of the Jewish people. He was sentenced to death and executed by hanging in 1946.
