Jun Kunimura, born in 1955 in Yatsushiro, is an internationally renowned Japanese actor. After beginning his career with a theater company in Osaka, he landed his first significant Hollywood role in Ridley Scott's *Black Rain* (1989), which brought him global recognition. Known for his versatility, he has collaborated with cult directors such as Takashi Miike on films like *Audition* and *Ichi the Killer*, and with Quentin Tarantino, who directed him as Boss Tanaka in *Kill Bill: Volume 1*. His extensive filmography also includes works by Takeshi Kitano and Hirokazu Kore-eda, such as *Like Father, Like Son*. His performance in the South Korean thriller *The Wailing* (2016) earned him widespread critical acclaim and the prestigious Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Supporting Actor, making him the first non-Korean actor to receive the honor and solidifying his status as a globally acclaimed performer.
