Muhammad Jusuf Kalla is an Indonesian politician and businessman, known for serving as the Vice President of Indonesia for two non-consecutive terms. His first term was from 2004 to 2009 under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, while his second was from 2014 to 2019 alongside President Joko Widodo. Hailing from a successful career as an executive in his family's business, the Kalla Group, he has also been a prominent figure and chairman of the Golkar party. His most significant international achievement is his role as a key mediator in the 2005 Helsinki peace agreement, which ended the long-running conflict in the Aceh province.
